Attended the Melbourne Design Market @ Federation Squarely on Sunday afternoon.. Evidently, having slept til midday in no way hampered my spidey senses for goodness - nor did I miss out on the awesomness on display in the Underground Car Park. I did however miss out on the tedium of battling the crowds, which I feel is a plus for all concerned. Well mainly myself and any small children who may have inadvertantly cut across my path towards whichever stand had become the focus of my attentions, thus copping a fearful wrath of an incredibly cranky art bitch with a newly discovered fear of people between the ages of 4 and 15.

That being said, this particular cranky art bitch found the experience to be quite an expensive, yet highly enjoyable one. Given that I kind of tore through the market at a blinding pace, I still managed to suss out a few personal favourites.

The first of which was indie boutique screenprinting studio ink&spindle with their gorgeous fabrics, the stall also had a range shonah's badges and jewellery, cushions and make at home sewing patterns, pepperberry notebook covers and mattt bags and satchels - all of which featured the lovely designs. Need I mention how very excited I am to sew something from the fabric bundle i brought home??

Being drawn to anything a tad punkish/emo/biker bitch/artsish, how could i possibly walk past the michigirl / stitch badges stall; most ultimate of bestest was indeed my new pink "that's what she said..." pin - YAY!!!

I must've been in desperate need of cheering up after over sleeping, cos the next purchase of the day was some AMAZINGLY BRIGHT PINK hand-dyed graduated tights rolled up and packaged in an ice cream cone and displayed in a super happy looking gelati cart at the incredible m.e.a.r stall. Michelle.Eloise.Alexis.Rachael are four incredibly talented girls creating unique, limited collections of leggings, tights and brightly coloured pom-pom adorned acceseories. For more info, get in touch with them by email mear.design@gmail,com.

Dumbo.Feather.Pass.It.On were there too offering punters discounted copies of their current edition.

Nicola Cerini was there too with pretty homewares, including coasters and placemats, mugs, rugs, cushions, tea towels and bags.
KeepCup were educating the masses on "What's wrong with disposable [coffee] cups?" and their well designed solution (f.y.i I totally want one!!)
Oh and of course, Third Drawer Down Museum of Art Souvenirs of Fitzroy!!! How could I forget???? AWESOME!
Me and Amber had a quaint little stall, the nicest items of which were definitely their screen printed T-shirts and badges.
Anyway, if you missed out, check out a few of the above stalls, and I'll keep hunting around for a round up blog with pics and loveliness!
